steering column turn signal cam thing
So, i ripped apart the column and got to where the turn signal cam is just hanging on by the wires. And there's not enough slack for me to tell if the wires are connected by connector or if they're hard connected in there.
Also, if anyone knows of any place that sells the cam assembly (not the canceling cam) send me the link plz!

Re: steering column turn signal cam thing
thats it. hmmm...i was hoping that i wouldnt have to tear apart the column any farther... all i need to replace is the actual cam because where the lever attaches is starting to break... has anyone ever replaced one of these before and could possible offer some pointers?

Re: steering column turn signal cam thing
I believe if you look up Gregski's thread, Restoring Rusty, he goes into detail about this.

Re: steering column turn signal cam thing
Full step by step video of a steering column tear down.
https://youtu.be/Gs4_p6xpLB4 Otherwise Google "c10 tilt steering column rebuild". The turn signal switch can be unplugged at the base of the column and the wires slid out without tearing the column down further. |
