NOS 4x4 Spring Stop/Shackle Guard

NOS 4x4 spring stop/shackle guard with mounting hardware $20 shipped in the continental US. This piece goes behind the driver's side front leaf spring on 4x4 trucks.

My K5 doesn't have that anywhere. Care to explain where it goes a little better?

Attached is a picture I found on the board (the part is circled in red). It goes behind the front spring shackle, but only on the drivers side (for left-hand drive trucks). I've heard it is a safety feature in case the spring breaks. It was added to trucks as a recall earlier in the '67-'72 run, and maybe became standard by '72.

There is another one for sale on the parts board right now by 6t727t2.

There was also a guard on the front of the shackle
