LOTS!!! of snow
We just had a record 24 hour snow fall here in north idaho. The official count is 32" but I had over 3' and my parents place 20 miles north had over 4'. That's a lot of snow in one day, and my truck is out of commission because I haven't had time to finish putting it back together and it looked like this before it snowed;

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
Actually, an effect is extreme weather, such as extreme cold, record snowfall, etc just as it is an average temp. increase with extreme warm temperatures, etc.
Anyway, that sucks. Did you get a tarp on it?

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
Yes, colder harsher winters are a result of global warming. I see the logic.

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
I hate the term global warming. The correct term is CLIMATE CHANGE. Climate change does more than increase temperature. Yes some areas will experience increases in temperature, but others will experience decreases. Changes in precipitation and other weather patterns will occur as well, just as 67ChevyRedneck said. And it will not occur overnight, rather over the span of years.

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
Oh, and for the record, it is the same powers that be who propagate this nonsense who want to send our trucks to the crusher.

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
Well it's hard to pin climate change on any one factor, in reality it is more than likely a combination of several factors...but with over 6 billion people on the Earth you can't deny we have to be having some affect.

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
I am no tree hugging hippy though. While I do believe our actions are having an affect on climate change, I'll continue to drive and enjoy old trucks. And I would never send one of em to the crusher because I thought it was polluting too much. That would be downright ridiculous.

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
You were supposed to keep the snow up there, now we're getting it.
I think it's funny that they started about 15 years ago talking about a new ice age coming, 7 years ago it went to global warming, and now it's "climate change". That's a better term because they can blame everything that happens in nature on it because it encompasses everything (vague).

I can deny it. Because over the history of the earth that is hundreds of millions of years old, there have been many periods where the average temperature of the earth has gone up and down. I have faith that it is somthing that is going to fluctuate regulairily. On the other hand though when you look at the way global warming is being sold and propagated, they are saying the earth is going to get hot, really hot, climbs in temperature leading to the melting off of the polar ice caps and the rise of the oceans coupled with massive droughts so on and so forth. What I take from that is "repent now or you will turn the earth into a painfull everlasting fiery hell" Allthough if they spelled it out that way, I dont know so many people would listen, it would be way to "churchey"

Re: LOTS!!! of snow
Holy crap......can of worms opened!
I'll just say this.... For every scientist that believes, there's one that doesn't, and whether or not you buy into global warming or not, it's not a bad idea to clean up the air. I also thinks it's of interest that there's alot of money at stake for many industries and it's in their best interests that their lobbyists convince ($$$$ favors) politicians to run around screeming "global warming". Al Gore has become a very wealthy man running with this "global warming" thing.
