1955 1 ton Navy Carryall 4x4
Special-K's "different make" thread got me surfing the net and I found this super-cool cool piece. I'm not affiliated with the sale at all.

That is cool. I have never seen one of those.
I didn't see a price, I wonder what he wants for it.

Re: 1955 1 ton Navy Carryall 4x4
Yeah,it says later drivetrain swapped in (once I clicked the link). When I first looked at it I thought it had a big 6-lug pattern with the Spicer lockouts and was surprised.

Re: 1955 1 ton Navy Carryall 4x4
That thing is pretty damn cool.... by looking at the finish and what was swapped out he cant be wanting to much. The dash has been cut for a radio and it has been modified from its stock trim. The guy is kidding himself if he thinks he is going to bring big money from the rarity... it would need to be in stock trim for that.

Re: 1955 1 ton Navy Carryall 4x4
well from experience i speak this:
any MV that is not running is worth about 1/3 of what the owner really feels he deserves. i have a 67 m715 its laughable what people offer because it's got a bad carb..

That thing`s been in civilian hand for quite awhile to have black plates.

Re: 1955 1 ton Navy Carryall 4x4
It appears to have a newer chassis under it. A Suburban maybe? Take a look at the front spring hangers and springs. Also you'll notice it steers from the front of the axle not behind like these old trucks did.
I suspect it had an entire later model chassis transplant. Once you do that, the originality is gone and it is simply another conversion. Now if it was an old Napco, then it would be worth a bunch of money! |

I hope if someone buys it they are aware that it is not original. After looking at it I see the aftermarket tall valve covers and the wiring looks like most of the vehicles I usually end up with ( a nightmare). I don't want to sound like I am knocking it, it's still a cool truck/burb. Infact knowing it isn't original would make it easier to modify it. I would take out that small window and add a lift to it.
