how hard to swap to auto.. 68 3/4 4x4????

currently has the rockwell case and sm465 i believe... would like to go to 203 or 205 and th400....

just driveshafts.... could these be had from a 70 or so auto pick up...

the differentials are the same i believe so i bet i could just grab the whole deal right???? tranny, trans case... , drive shafts, shift linkage......


any opinions on this

Post this over in the 4x4 subforum and you'll have a bit more luck. I don't know anything about autos, but I do know the NP205's crossmember is a little deeper than the Rockwell's so if you can grab the donor trucks crossmember or space your Rockwell's transfer case down 1". I'd look for an NP205 rather than the 203. You will likely need to reposition your t/c crossmember too. I'm replacing my Rockwell with an NP205 behind my existing SM465 and had to move the crossmember back.
