hi im a new member here is my truck i just bought right before i left for my deployment to afghanistan. it is a 79 3/4 ton chevy. 6 in suspension. 36/12.5/16.5 rim. i pretty sure it has a plane old 350 with a 4 speed manual tranny that has a granny gear. its my new project. tell me what you think and even your ideas to make it better. thanks

i was thinking rollbar and lights up top. maybe even a winch up front. and lockers front and rear.....

Nice truck! Very clean for a midwestern truck.

It almost looks taller than a 6" lift.

lift her up a bit in the rear and run her as she is. (looks to be squatting a bit.).

If you are going to mount a winch up front it should sit about right without doing anything to the rear height.

Sit`s fine in my eyes.If the rear is a bit lower,they handle better that way.I always liked the K/20s best.`79 was a great year.All I`d want to change is get rid of all the accessory shiney stuff and go back with original trim.The 73-79 side trim was some of the best looking trim ever.Most get away from it when painting a truck and go the easy route using later stick-on stuff.

Definitely a good looking truck - my 2nd favorite body style. Gotta agree with the above, get rid of the added shiny stuff. Then enjoy the truck!

Looks great.

How about making it more fuctional with a 1 ton axle swap and a winch.. that is if you are going to wheel it.

i want to get lockers for my truck. i was thinking a spooled front end. since i have lock out hubs i was told it would work like a normal front end till you lock in the hubs then its a really good locker. wat is a good locker for the rear. i want good lockers with out spending a bunch of money. help me decide
