New gas tank...Coat the inside or not?
I need a new gas tank for my truck since the one in it now is rusted really bad and I am going to just buy a stock tank for behind the seat. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to coat the inside of the tank before I install it to prevent it from rusting or should I leave it as is?

i think most radiator repair shops can do that. not sure on pricing. but IMO cant hurt to have it coated

If it is new, I would leave it as is. The original lasted 40 years, didn't it?

If it would help in preventing rust, I would coat it. I bought one for my 69 chevy about 10 years ago. Then about 3 years back the engine blew up on me and it's been sitting not being used. Now I can see where the part that is not constanly covered in gas is rusting (I think it had about 1/2 tank of gas).
