gas tank ideas for airride
just wondering what you guys have done about a gas tank in the back with airride i dont want one that hangs really low, my truck isnt overly low in the back i only have bags 2 1/2 blocks and a c notch. I had extensive hail damage to the truck so i figured while the box is off i might as well do this swap and get the hole in the cab welded up. if it helps my air tank and compressor is mounted where a blazer tank would go which can be easily moved

Re: gas tank ideas for airride
I have an RCI 20gal aluminum tank in between the rails at the very back. I will have to cut a hole in the bed but it doesn't hang low at all. You can prob find some pics by searching through the bagged postings

His website. He's made a number of brackets and gadgets over the years, including an aluminum fuel cell, which I've had installed an in use for about 3 years.

Fuelcellguy built mine looks great ,works great. Move the compressors and put your fuel tank there instead.

Re: gas tank ideas for airride
Same here. Put it where the old spare tire mount was at the very back. Doubt I have any pics though I'm starting over w/ a backhalf soon, and yes I will have to cut the floor to make it work.

1.we use 50/52 14 ga aluminum for our tanks. You ask why this is why. When you bend the tanks no cracks when use 50/52.We use 14 ga,when you tig weld it together nothing will warp nice and clean. Our tanks come with, one drain one sending unit mounting pad one feed for your fuel unless you have injection we will install one more for a return two 3/16 aluminum brackets that are welded to the side of the tank so you can mounted to the frame. two baffels 100%tig welded and built to any style you want. Tanks you have mentioned are not built the same way at all. One more thing to add all of Scotts parts we make in house in oxnard ca not outside job shops. All of our parts come with a lifetime gaurantte. Re: gas tank ideas for airride
i think at the present time i will go with the rci tank, simply due to the cost factor altho i do appreciate scotts putting up the comparison of there product. Also the way the dollar is now means the tank will be alot more than the 400 mark and i can get the rci tank here for $220 canadian

You seem to be indicating you have experience with how Fuelcellguy makes his tanks. If you are, you're just plain wrong. If you're not, then you might not want to be simply making stuff up about your competitor's products. It's unethical and damages your company's credibility. What I've seen from you in this post are _3_ "ads" for your product. I think we get it... you sell tanks, please buy from you, yours is best, etc. As for FCG's tanks (or, since I can only speak for the one he made me, plus the one other that I've seen with my own two eyes-- Yukon Jack's)... his feature set matches what you've listed above and while his are made "in house," they are not made in Oxnard, CA... so, if there's something special about your location, maybe your product really is better. Otherwise... enough, please.

Re: gas tank ideas for airride

Re: gas tank ideas for airride
Not sure. Here's what he quoted with his most recent post above...
Looks like he's generalizing both Summit's and FCG's offerings with his statements. Maybe Scott's can clarify which product he's denigrating.

Re: gas tank ideas for airride
We never mention anybody
in our post on how they make there tanks on being good or bad.The company we were comparing to was Summit. We have used there tanks in our shop in the past. We have had to modify them as well. Final we were explaining on how we make our tanks. we did not slam anyboby in our post at all.If you took it that way we are sorry about that. Justin |
