Z Bar 60-66

Hi All -

I'm doing a I6 to V8 conversion on my truck. Just wondering off hand. How is this Z bar going to fit for the clutch linkage? I have an 1980 something block I'm using (bought the block from a friend, and haven't seen it yet). Did they still put mounts for the Z-bar on that block? Will I have to buy anything to make it work? I tried looking something up on this but I didn't seem to find anything. Thanks! (Off to work)

Alex

Hmmm.. so I checked the block. I didn't find a spot for that thing to bolt up.. Has anyone done any fab work for one? Or is there another way to mount it so my clutch still works?

Re: Z Bar 60-66

The bracket from the L6 does not bolt up. The bracket for the L6 is actually just making up for the block being narrower than the V8.

On the V8 there is a single threaded bolt hole into which a pivot ball stud thing is screwed into.

I found there were two lengths, when I did the conversion I needed the longer one. Should be some $10 or so at the auto parts store.

It looks like this
