Question All back-halfs

Post your pic's, I would like to start getting idea's.

What size square tubing did you guy's use and what thickness?

Please give me pointers and reasons why you chose a to build a back-half.

heres mine. sorta back half. i used 2x3x1/4" tubing. i was gonna build a notch but the frame gets more narrow in the middle of the notch so i just did this.

Here's one I have been working on for a bit.












The owner is plumbing it himself, so I just put the battery cables back so it would start to get on the trailer. The frame is an air tank.

Oh and it's 2x4 .120 wall for the frame rails. Lower link bars are 1.5x2.5 .120. And the wishbone is 1.5" .120.

so most are using 2x4 .120 wall right? is that the equivalent of 3/16 or 1/4"

No, it is 1/8" which is .125 but they closest thing they make to that is .120 in tubing. An easy way to figure decimals sizes is always remember that 1/4" is .250 so half of that (1/8") is .125 or a fourth of that would be (1/16") .0625. That helped me learn decimal sizes.

on my 81 i'm using 3 X 4 rec tubing X 1/4 or 3/8 thick, dont remember right off, to build my 8-10in notch and boxing my factory frame if its any help to ya....

yes a realize this, But it was on hand, and also im trying to break a few mold by maintaining some towability, so it will be built seemingly overkil, also i want the added weight so it will hook up at the track.
