COOOL Old 46!!
I bought a lathe from the guy who owns this old truck, when I went to look at the lathe, it took 30 minutes to get past the truck before looking at the lathe. The story is this was special built with many others for post war uses. It is original, straight 6 eng, 4x4, 1 1/2 ton looks like, 20" tires. This is the coolest old truck I think I have ever seen, and by the way its not for sale.

Re: COOOL Old 46!!
The 41-46 trucks were not sold at dealers.
These were war year trucks. And a special board (Gov't) had to approve you buying one. You had to prove a NEED to have one. As most steel was going to support the war. The windshield normally only CRANKED out about 6 inches. I think this one has been modified. Never seena 4 x 4 one. But i am sure it could be ordered. I have owned 5 trucks of this vintage. Couple of them were decent too. This one you have shown here is definatly a cool truck. Thanks for getting pics for us.

Re: COOOL Old 46!!
In the early '80s I had a summer gig, cutting down and splitting oaks. On the property where we stayed was a '41 Ford 2 ton. Great looking rig...very clean. My dad would look @ it all the time and ask the land owner if he wanted to sell. Land owner would say "it is my father-in-laws, and he will never sell(the father-in-law was 100 years old at the time). We brought some cordage down to sell one week and when we made our way back up to the trees, the truck was gone... the 'ol guy sold it to a passer by for $50... my dad was a unhappy camper for a while.
Thanks for brining back a memory and letting me hi-jack your thread!
