measuring the eight lug pattern?
Yo! I asked in the Foose wheel thread, but I'd like to find out if there are different sized eight bolt wheel patterns, and how do you measure them properly? Thanks guys, Todd.

Re: measuring the eight lug pattern?
On 4,6 & 8 bolt patterns, you measure from the center of on wheel stud to the center of the one directly opposite from it. The 8 lug bolt patterns are listed as 8 on 6 1/2" for our trucks.
On a 5 lug bolt pattern, you measure from the center of one bolt to the OUTSIDE EDGE of the bolt 2 away from it.

Re: measuring the eight lug pattern?
8 lug is 8 lug, but the center hole on some factory wheels may cause some
brand interchangability problems. Like a Chevy wheel won't fit on a Dodge 1 ton rear axle, but fits on the front hub fine. |

Re: measuring the eight lug pattern?
Yo! Perfect!
Thank you all very much,...I'd measured mine to be 6.5", or 165mm. The hub diameters, front and rear are 4.5", which is 64mm. My axles are from a "73 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. I'm familiar with the five lug, been working with it for over thirty-five years, but have little experience with eight lug, until now. Thanks, again! Todd.

Re: measuring the eight lug pattern?
Yeah that's right, and they have special lug nuts too.
Ford and their better ideas... Hey how about all of these new GM factory take-off 6 lug wheels that are everywhere and dirt cheap because everyone wants "dubs". If we could only get some cheap 6 to 5 lug adapters we could snatch up some of these nice 16" & 17" wheels. I see them a cheap as $125 with good tires, all the time! |
