Look in the engine section of this site. Someone just last week asked a similar question. This was my first attempt at a EFI swap and all I can say is with the right amount of research it is not all that bad. Good luck Marc |

The iron heads on the Roadmaster and Impala SS outflow the factory aluminum heads by a good bit. Cam swap, exhaust 52mm throttle body and a tune and you'll be in business.

Re: new engine possibility 94 LT1?
just be sure that it is a lt1 350 and not the 4.3 v8 they look identical same lt1 intake and everything the only way you can tell a differenc is the block will say 5.7 right behind dr cylinder head. To all of you who are about to say a 4.3 is a v6 do your research the caprices and roadmasters both had a 4.3 v8 option, i made the mistake of getting one thinking it was an lt1. Remember there is no physical difference other that the 5.7 being cast in the block. my 4.3 had alot of numbers like an old school casting # just my 2 cents

Re: new engine possibility 94 LT1?
If the vin has a P it is a 350. The iron heads are fine. Your compression ratio is a little lower, but the torque will be monster. You can easily get 400HP out of this engine with a rebuild, or run it like it is for 200K miles. Gen II small blocks were built right, after 30 years gm got pretty good at the SBC.
