NOS Woodgrain Trim
I have some trim I'm installing on my pickup. The plastic molding clip does not want to go into the trim ends very well, and when I get it in the trim it sticks out, it's not flush. Any tips for installation. And adhesive tape is not sticky either. Thanks

Re: NOS Woodgrain Trim
I've heard about people having that problem and I think the best solution is to use the metal clips like the originals. That's what I plan to do anyway.

Re: NOS Woodgrain Trim
At least on a '72, the plastic adhesive clips are original. They are all a PITA to install. I reused the original clips on my '72 by buying 3M double stick auto tape and applying the tape to where the original tape was. The repro clips are not very good.

Re: NOS Woodgrain Trim
I used NOS trim on a truck I did in the 90's and the plastic clips that came with it were not quite the same as the originals. It made the trim stand away from the body. I wound up taking my original plastic clips and reusing them as well. It was worse on the upper trim than the lower.

Re: NOS Woodgrain Trim
After painting my truck for the 3rd time since I have owned it I went trimless. I didn't like any of the trim because it all stuck out. I ordered a box of small & large clips that didn't help much but was better than the glue on ones. Nothing I tried helped.

Re: NOS Woodgrain Trim
I might use the original plastic clips with new tape. The original clips are a little thinner than the new NOS ones I got with the trim, they sit flush with the trim. I don't like the molding sticking out away from the body. Thanks
