Suggestions for hood hinges?
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a hood hinge that i can fab or whatever?
Any idea what kind of hinge is in the second pic?

That hinge looks like a trunk hinge off a 2006 cadillac cts will check tomorrow.I thought I was saving a few of those for something.

i believe raguemoe said they were off of a mercedes benz clk or other type of mercedes. you can always check his build thread.... i think he eves has a price and part # listed in their

here you go, strait from his build thread:
Mercedes-Benz hinges (think from a CLK)........ Driver's side (208 750 03 28) Passenger side (208 750 04 28) customer pay is $128.25 each plus tax. Fits 1998-2003 (or 2005 depending on coupe or cabrio) CLK 320, 430, 55. Last edited by project 67 sub; 02-09-2009 at 02:55 AM. |

Take a look at this setup for hinges on your hood. I used a set of these for a hard tonneau cover on a truck and they work quite well. I have also seen these on many street rods.

check with XXL on those Sachse hinges ... i think it was him ... if not, someone posted that they had a real difficult time using them with such a heavy hood like our trucks.

Glad someone knew more about that picture. Here are the hinges I was talking about (top 2 photos) I know these are off a Cadd. CTS or STS 2005-2006 ? The 3rd photo is off something a little older I think a olds aurora ??? All are deck lid hinges. These are probably a little stronger than the ones in your picture. I would remove the gas struts if I used them on a hood. If you want these hinges I would take $ 50.00 including shipping for either pair or offer.
