Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
Very nice. I may need to do that to my C-30 along with the Dynamat I bought to make sure the diesel doesn't sound like its in the cab with me!

I was gonna do the same thing to my 3/4 ton 4x4, help with rust and corrosion control.

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
The guy that painted mine used the same thing when he painted the cab. Didn't know it came in colors?

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
no pics of the underside of the floor yet. my homemade cab dolly makes it impossible to get a decent pic, but i could see it well enough while the whole thing was up on the trailer to tell you that it looks just as good underneath.
i will try yo get pics when i lift the cab up to put it back on the frame. truck outfitters and supply in tuscaloosa charged about 700 to do what you see in the pics plus the bottom all the way from the back of the cab up to the seam where the floor meets the firewall at about a 45 degree angle. this after noon i used dupli color spray in bed liner from wallmart to do the verticle part of the firewall on the outside. it took 2 cans at about 7 bucks a can. i could have had the ultimate liner stuff sprayed on there but since it is a rubbery product, i didn't want to risk it melting down and catching fire. the duplicolor stuff is more of a paint based product. i am going to do the back side of the dash and up high on the inside of the firewall tomorrow. it should take about 2 more cans. Then its on to bolting this thing down and starting the body work and paint. tony

Just a question... As mentioned by 67 C-30 it is used for a sound barrier, but does this also help to limit heat inside the cab?

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
They typically do, as the liner material doesn't conduct heat like metal does.
My truck has a thin lining of something. Doesn't do too much, but the radio takes care of that on the freeway, even though it's a 65 mph truck |

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
yes, this was done for several reasons. sound deadening, insulation, waterproofing and since i had to use a flux core welder to do extensive repairs on the florr pan, rockers, cab corners etc. the liner material seals any pin holes that may have been missed. i glassed in all the seams before it was sprayed in just to make doubly sure that i got everything.

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
Sounds like you will have a solid cab when you finish everything. Thanks for the info, and best of luck with the rest of the build!

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
Your diesel is a Silverado and came with the 6.2 sound proofing.Just imagine the motor in an old tin can cab.

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
looks nice//BUT its really not very effective for insullation and if the plans are for putting a product lilike dynamat over it i wonder how well and how long the stuff will stick to it// duct tape doesnt stick very well or very long to the lineXliner i have in the bed of my silverado/// padded insullation stuck very well to the lizard skin ceramic stuff i used in my last project

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
Hey guys, I am a distributor for a industrial liner product, You can spray it at home with a typical air compressor with the gun, I can get for you. If theres enough interest from the board I will become a vendor here so you guys can get it reasonablly from me. The stuff I distribute, can be color matched to your vehicle, and is better than linex, rhino, or any other industrial spray liner.

Re: ultimate liner in cab !!!!!
cdowns
for insulating value, i think it will help. but i don't see it as being as good as a product intended for that pupose. then again, inside temps were never a problem for me. this thing has air and vent windows and a rear sliding window. plus i run the heater in summer anyway, (cold natured) i don't plan on using dynomat unless its still too loud inside, i will put the carpet with its padding down and see. this stuff has a rubbery surface to it, rather than the non skid sand paper like texture that linex and others have, so sticking dynomat to it shouldn't be a problem, if i opt to do so. my goal for this thing is to be so quiet inside, that all you hear inside at idle is the cooling fan chopping air

I'd like to see what you're results are for the liner as far as noise, but by the looks of it it'll be a while huh. Definitly on my to do list, good job.
