Sending Unit Question
Can anyone tell me if a 0-85 ohm sending unit will operate the factory fuel gauge on my 72 chevy?? I seem to remember that ours are rated at 0-90 ohms. Is the 0-85 ohms close enough to function properly? Thanks.

I guess you would just have to try it. You wouldn't think 5 ohms would make that much difference but I suppose it could make it read wrong. I'm not good with the electronics math.... LockDoc

I know I have a 1993 Suburban operating my 1971 factory gauge. What OHM'S it is I have no idea. It's GM though!

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

The Burb sender is 0-90 Ohms. The sender you have will work. Although, when you fill up it wont show 100% full. It will show correct when empty.

My gauge works fine. It is dead on the money. I installed about 12 years ago now and it reads full.
I have the whole tank out of the 1993 suburban.
