Re: front disc
Local Pick and Pull or Metal Recycling yard.
74 and up to 86? 87? Front disc axle to axle (A-arm to A-arm) swap right over with just chaning the ball joints and moving the location by 1 bolt hole. Cheap, inexpensive and upgraded.

Re: front disc
Do you have to use their spindles or once it's changed over is it all universal?

Re: front disc
Goto a junk yard and get 73-87 spindles/calipers. If you go with any conversion rotors you gonna need them for the heavy half tons IIRC. Get 73-87 ball joints, and bolt them into the 67-72 a-arms. You can grab the center drag link, and tie rods from the doner 73-87, but I just went ahead and used CPP conversion tie rod sleeve and used 73-87 outters. Use 73-87 brake lines. Takes a bit of work modding one of the brackets that hold the line, but I can get pics.
That's where I'm sitting at, with 300 into it. New disk brake prop valve booster and mastercylinder are on the way. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=317654 < my experience Last edited by texanidiot25; 02-17-2009 at 06:16 PM. |
