Re: lmc bench seat coverings

Rod as you have probably seen by posts on here LMC can be hit or miss. Some of their product is just fine, and some is not so much.

Check with Capt Kaos and see who he can get them from. He won't sell you anything that he wouldn't put in his own truck.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

The kits are hit or miss but i have used several of the budget scroll vinyl seatcovers from LMC and been VERY happy. there are several board vendors on here that sell seat upholstery kits cheaper and they are very easy to install!

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

LMC sell the same thing I do. ACME.
I haven't set up the upholstery item yet but I have been selling their stuff for a couple years. I have a set on my crew cab.

If it is listed here I sell it:
http://www.acmeauto.us/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=1133

This is the material charge but they have standard offerings others are extra and they are made to order...

http://www.acmeauto.us/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=4435

rod86, I will have to check. I am going to be out the rest of the day looking at 2 trucks, can I get back with you on Monday? Send me an email on what you are needing...

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

Yes there is a difference. 81-87 seat bottoms have a pinch at the back where the 73-80 version goes straight back. They aren't interchangeable. The foam is different on them.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

I got my covers and foam from LMC; they both worked great. Good fit and feel. They can be a little pricey, but I am happy with the way they turned out. If you can get them cheaper at another source, then go for it. (I lucked out because I needed a seat frame that's adjustable & has folding back rest & found it at a recycle yard for $14; so, saved some money there & lowered overall cost of whole job.)

Yes, I can get seat foam. You have to call, but with the influx of calls I have gotten lately I will probably be adding these to the catalog ASAP.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

Im having mine done at the upholstery shop that has done my other cars and it comes out way cheaper then doing it yourself, he charged me 260 but he is doing everything, he paints the frames and makes everything as good as new. And you have the option to do it your way, colors and patterns.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

So would you call the ACME cover an economy seat cover?
What if you want an exact match to the OEM upholstery?
Who sells the best quality stuff?
I'm not completely happy with my PUI brand upholstery in my '69.
Any others brands?

we got a different saying for the PUI brand at our shop...'pretty ugly interior'...their stuff is pretty hit or miss also...some stuff we've gotten has been acceptable at best and other stuff we have had to really rework to make look decent...

The ACME stuff is as close as you're going to get to OEM. The materials are different, but the original materials GM used simply are not available anywhere. The quality of the ACME stuff is very nice though... the stitching & material patterns are the same as OEM, and the actual material used is close.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

I wouldn't call it economy. I would call it factory replacement.
The colors pretty much match the factory. Or are really close...
I used this on my Crew Cab.

Yes I sell carpet.

Re: lmc bench seat coverings

The '71-72 seat cover I saw from LMC wasn't even close on the design and size of the scroll pattern. Maybe it was a different brand than ACME,... be the owner sent it back. It was terrible.

Has anyone heard of Legends, or Legendary seat upholstery?

Legendary has a top notch product...have put many of their covers on and I would say out of the aftermarket seat cover manufacturers, their covers need the least amount if any work to fit good...
