I outsource it to a machine shop.

Re: Redrilling front rotors

we have a fixture we made that bolts on our mill that
holds them in place.You can
buy the rotors already drilled with the bolt pattern
you want. You do not have to be bothered with it.

Re: Redrilling front rotors

I sent my rear axles off to http://www.moserengineering.com/ to get them re-drilled. VERY QUICK turn around. They also do hubs.

Re: Redrilling front rotors

I redrilled my rear axles and drums last week myself at home. I layed out a templete in CADD at work and then transfered it to a metal templte once I got home. The templete bolts to the existing lug pattern so I can centerpunch the 5 new hole locations. Then I made a simple jig on my drill press to hold the axle shafts nice and flat and drilled them. Easy as pie. A front rotor shouldn't be any harder than that assuming there is no webbing on the back side to get in the way of an offset new pattern. The drums and rotors both lay flat on a drill press so all you should need is a templete to get the hole locations correct.

There is 'webbing' that interferes. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to overcome for the DIY'er @ home.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Redrilling front rotors

Screw in studs could be an easy answer. What do the machine shops do? Do they machine down the "webbing" and weaken the rotor?
