I accidentally bid on 2 different sets... and nobody ha come close. i already now own M/T covers for $26 but thy're not pretty. How should I polish them? Never Dull then Mothers? Cheap is of the essence for now.

Lightbulb

I think you can retract ebay bids, so retract one of the two bids you made.

What is the link to the bid? If this is the Link If so you still haven't met the reserve.

Cool, I like the M/T valve covers. Were you the one I told to look on e-bay for them? When I got mine I cleaned them real well, and then sprayed the whole thing with black krylon wrinkle paint. Then, I took 220 grit sand paper and sanded the paint off of the fins. Then I just kept going to finer and finer sandpaper, and finaly buffed them with some metal polish. The only thing I should have done different was to strip ALL of the old black off, instead of just the parts that were pealing already. Or, if you dont like the black ones, the other thing you can do with them that looks good is to paint just the top part with chevy orange, then polish the rest of it(including the fins) just leaving the paint inbetween the fins on the top. Sorry that was so long, but I hope that helps you with how to clean them up.

And, the black ones. Sorry it's a ford one, but that is the only pic of the black ones on the Holley website.

Mine are black too. If you want black, don't worry about polishing the whole thing, but paint them and sand and polish the fin part.

Paul how about these? I'm asking Santa for the aluminum ones that are made for centerbolts. Here's the link to more options. http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Prof...ve_covers.html They have another set of black/red ones as well.

Those are close but the ones I saw at the swap meet didn't have the bowtie and chevy was spelled out in the style Corvette is . Plus I've noticed after checking prices covers at the meet that were priced 100 bucks could be bought at Oreilleys for 60 bucks.
DOH !!
