700r4 with Edelbrock carb (corrector bracket)
Is anyone running a 700r4 with an Edelbrock carb? Are you using the TV corrector bracket?
I was looking at these corrector brackets on the Summit website... TCI's bracket is $42.88 B&M's is $41.95 Hughes is $41.88 And the Summit house brand is $18.95 Now, all these brackets are pretty much the same, so one would be out of their mind not to get the Summit one, but let's face it- it's just a piece of metal. Anyone have one who could provide measurements to make one?

The Lokar stuff is even more expensive than the stuff I listed. I want to make the part so my cash outlay is 0.

Re: 700r4 with Edelbrock carb (corrector bracket)
The only measurement I need from someone running one of these brackets is the distance between the center of the bottom mounting hole and center of the 'relocated' TV stud. Anyone?

There's a diagram of the GM specification on what TV cable geometry should be with respect to the throttle shaft floating around somewhere. Wish I had the link to it.

I would pay 18 dollars not to have that ugly job sitting next to my carb, but I guess it gets the job done.

Re: 700r4 with Edelbrock carb (corrector bracket)
I built my own bracket out of metal plate and adjusted it to the proper distance for a good operation.

Re: 700r4 with Edelbrock carb (corrector bracket)
there's a few diffrent bracket's that will work for you. edelbrock has on for about $30-$35 buck's it bolt's to the intake manifold hold's the throttle and the t.v cable. specturm has one for about $15-$20 buck's bolt's to the back of the carb also hold's throttle and t.v cable. i just did a 700r4 swap in to my 73 blazer. the best thing to do is to go to your local transmission shop and buy a longer t.v cable.............i did yesterday if cost me $40 buck's installed............the t.v cable must be hooked up correctly if not you can and will fry your transmssion i hear..........also if you have a lock up converter you want it hooked up to work..............

Re: 700r4 with Edelbrock carb (corrector bracket)
Yea, gchemist, that looks like the piece I'm talking about- it bolts to the trottle arm of the carb and relocates the TV stud rearward. I just need to know the distance between the center of the lower mounting hole to the center of the TV stud.
What are you using for a throttle cable mount? Factory?
