Re: what yall think?
I can't help with the PC, but I think you should go GMC, the grille looks cleaner and you see fewer of them on the road.

Re: what yall think?
The composite lamps look pretty cool. I know the 88-98 front end can accept either dual sealed beams or 1 piece composites with the right brackets so it may be a nearly bolt in swap.

Re: what yall think?
This is how bigarmzz told me how to do it:
all you'd need is a donor rad support from a burb/blazer (89-91), and the lower part that goes under the rad support (it bolts to the fenders), then just splice in the wires...no prob, very easy, as long as the lower bolts come loose from the frame seemed easy enough to me. as soon as I get my hands on the right parts mine will have that front end.

Re: what yall think?
Here's a link showing how to install the front grill/radiator support.
http://www.geocities.com/abetterchem...rillchnge.html It's really easy. The wiring for the headlamps are almost the same.

Re: what yall think?
I think the GMC grille looks nice on that truck. It looks great as it is, but I like to change stuff up a little. If that silver truck was mine, I would paint the areas between the headlights and marker lights silver (body color) and install a billet grille. I like the GMC grille, but I'm not crazy about the huge emblem in the center.
The conversion is very easy, but just be very careful of the aftermarket grilles. The stock ones had a tendency for the chrome plating to peel after awhile, and the aftermarket ones do the same thing even quicker and the chrome will turn a blackish green on all the edges. |
