Parts availability ?

hey all after snapping a few axles and u-joints this winter i decided to buy new axles and rebuild the front end in my 70 K20. i went to Napa today and bought all the bearings and seals that i'll need and was looking to get tie rod ends too but they only seem to list the left hand side and they don't even have that in stock. do any of you know where you can get tie rod ends for these trucks?

thanks to all in advance

Re: Parts availability ?

I was buying draglink ends and the parts guy brought tie rod ends out first try. They were Moog parts and it was just last month. It`s a chain called Bumper To Bumper who bought up some local independant stores.

Re: Parts availability ?

all we have around here is Napa Bond and VIP. we had this problem before when we did my dads K20. we found out that one side has reverse threads and it took many tries and a few weeks to get the right part. do you know of anywhere online who would have these or any vendors that might carry this?

Re: Parts availability ?

if i cant get the right part i may take you up on that offer. you have any chrome moly axle shafts you want to get rid of for the cost of shipping before i order some?

the whole reason behind me doing this is i've gone through 2 passenger side axle shafts and 4 u-joints this winter in my k20. also my wheel bearings are shot along with the tie rod ends so i'm finally getting sick of taking this thing apart so i'm gonna do it right

Re: Parts availability ?

wow, you need to buy a dana60 or something... I think there's more wrong with your axle than a lead foot...

Re: Parts availability ?

2 tanks of gas to find a place to wheel. why dont u just go to the same place and go a different route.

But get a dana 60 you shouldnt break that if you do then go to a rockwell. And it sounds like you have a lead foot like me!
