Hello all, Ive been looking into old coach built crew cabs lately and ran across this, http://dallas.craigslist.org/sdf/cto/1074087155.html Hope the link works.

I was wondering whats the going price for something in that kinda shape? Are the 67-72's hard to find as a crew cab. This one looks to be pretty rough and is probably more of a project than I really need to get into right now, but I sure do like the idea of an old crew cab. Any opinions, suggestions, links, or pics are appreciated. TIA

welcome to the boards from central ohio.
The truck you are looking at is an owner built custom. The cab is a chopped down suburban. Depending on the rust issues it may or may not have, there is a lot of fab time in there. It may well be worth the asking price.
67 - 72 GM didn't build crew cabs. They did farm them out to be built, and they were not at all pretty. But, even the un-pretty original ones still bring in more than you'd think.

Ive been researching a little on old chevy crews of this time frame and had heard that many were built starting with burbans, were these all owner build? Ive also seen some pics of the ones built using four front doors, and like you said Im not that found of the looks either.

I wish it were in better shape, I due doubt that there would be any rust though if its from these parts. The body being three different colors and the front end just sitting there kinda turns me away. Wish it were cheaper, nicer, or both, lol.

There were several companies that did conversions. Most of them were like you mentioned with front doors, but there was other companies that made extended cabs for forestry service and other municipalities. Scott-Bilt was one that did them.

BTW, that one you posted from craigslist looks be one built out of Suburban. It looks to have the high Suburban roof.

Here's a buch of them. The ones built like the gold and white in the first pic are best looking ones IMO. They look they could have came that way.
