Where to buy the best repop dash pad? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have searched but didn't find much on which vendors sell the best dash pads other than LMC doesn't, they don't fit right and are the urathane/fiberglass backed ones. Anyone have a recommendation based on buying one and how it fits? Thanks

IIRC, Most of the Truck Vendors on here sell the same one.

I have seen the units Tim Christian sells in person since I
work for him every April at the Memphis, TN SCS. Quality
looks really nice, but I can't provide you with any pic's.

I think there is only one manufacturer. Mine came from Early-Classics but showed up in a Brother's box. Pick you're favorite board vendor and go for it.

Ours are $79.95 and are made in the USA. The fit great, I have mounted a few of them on trucks. WES

Wes, are yours urethane or vinyl covered? Metal backing or fiberglass?

The ones for $79.95 are urithane. They are not backed with fiberglass, they have the steel straps inside that the bolts mount to. The vinyl covered dashes are a little more expencive. ($89.95) However it is still manufactured by the same company. WES

OK so if I wanted to dye/paint the dash cap another color to match a custom interior then I'm assuming I should look at the vinyl one instead of the urethane one? or does it matter?

I bought a urithane one off ebay for $60 shipped to me. Looks real nice but I haven't put it in yet to see how it fits.

They say that the urithane ones are not paintible, but if you clean them with Trisodiumphosphate (TSP) they will paint up nicely. However they do recomend that you purchace the vinyl one for painting. WES

I have been looking as well for the best places for dashes; if I could ask on this thread without starting a new one, could you tell me if the vinyl one is better quality and/or fit or which one of the two looks and fits best? Thanks.

Both dashes fit great. As stated above the same company manufactures them. WES
