OK, my engine information is finally coming together
350 SBC - 70's (gen 1)
.30 over (355) Kept fairly stock, I spoke with the builder today, should be ready Thursday. Resurfaced heads Valve job New lifters Stock 1010 crank Speedpro pistons Torquer crank RV cam New oil pan and pump New timing chain Adding an Edelbroc performer intake manifold, a holly 600 cfm carb, and stock headers with dual turbo mufflers. Gonna be on the powerglide until I can afford (or break that) and get a th350 or 400. |

Sounds good....a lot like mine. You should get around 300hp out of that combo.

Powerglides are actually pretty decent transmissions. Not sure if there is any difference in the truck Powerglide and the Powerglide that was in my dad's Camaro but he used to beat the hell out of it with the 327 he had in there and it held up fine.

If it is shifting fine now you have nothing to worry about. Lots of racers have powerglides [with mods of course]....they are easily strong enough to hang with a 350.
