Is the Reproduction door skins on 67-72 all made by the same company, Is the metal a good quality, what about the fit. I would appreciate some advice. I want to repair my door shells & use new skins but not if they are thin cheap junk. If their is different manufactures, who sells the good ones. Thanks In advance.

Re: Door skin quality
I got mine through LMC long before I found this place. They fit really well and seemed to be good quality. I would prob check with the board venders first.

Re: Door skin quality
I just purchased some Tri-Plus sheet metal from Mikes Bump and Grind the quality looks very good. They have a complete door skin for 54.00 and are good people to work with and also a site Vendor. I purchased cab repair panels from him, have not gotten to the doors yet so I can't speak for them personally.

Re: Door skin quality
I'm in the market too. 19 ga is too thin IMO. Vendors, are they really this thin?

Re: Door skin quality
Lots of people including me are wondering about the quality of the available repair panels. This raises a question I've never asked before: What is OEM gauge for these trucks anyway?

Re: Door skin quality
red71c10 you make a very good point hope some vendors,( maybe Tri-ProAutomotive) can give us some advice. I found a older thread he had asking about parts we might need. I think he is a very knowledgeable person that can shed some light on this.

Re: Door skin quality
In this thread, a board member measured a factory panel and came up with 19 gauge (Post #6).
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...anel+thickness and vendor GMCPaul mentions factory panel thickness in his post as 19 gauge as well (Post #24). http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...anel+thickness
