Re: routing diagram for carburetor vaccum lines

most vendors carry the GM assembly manuals they show in very good detail the proper running of vaccume lines wire harnesses and oloads of other stuff to help you get as close to stock as you want it

it's a bit of a pain because theres no index and that means thumbing thru hundreds of pages sometimes to find the right illustration

when you say vendors ,are you referring to a dealership, auto parts store or mechanic? i have a manual ( from an auto parts store)and like i said it only shows the sensor to damper line ,nothing else.

can you answer me this the line coming from the vaccum advance on the distributor it goes to the fitting coming from the side of my quadrajet rochester on the right hand side ( sitting in the truck) is this correct?

Re: routing diagram for carburetor vaccum lines

mlsprouse, for vacuum advance, IIRC, you want to have ported vacuum. meaning that you only want the advance to occur when you give it the gas, not all the time (manifold vacuum). if you look up the users manual for a quadrajet, i think it is on the left (driver's side of the truck). it's gonna have the same type of nipple on the carb, just like what is on the advance module.

I’ve got all my accessories hooked to the proper locations. You can see the pictures on the link below. (Sorry, I’m at work and no clear pic to attach!)

sport truck
thanks for the pics ,nice looking engine ,ive got ya beat, been wrenching on mine for three years. your application is a little different than mine but i noticed for the vaccum advance you have it going to the port on the front of the carb is that the usual application or are they different? i have it set up on the right side of the carb right now( sitting in the truck ) i was thinking of running the vacuum advance the way your is and the port i had the vaccum advance going to, run that to the air cleaner and the other fitting in the front of the carb i was going to close off since i have no canister. im so close to getting this thing running its not even funny, im chomping at the bit to hear her rumble again!
