Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Keep me posted. Do you know the back-spacing on these by chance? I assume they're like the 15x8 truck ralleys @ 4".

I`ll check what mine are.I know back in the day backspacing was pretty much standardized @4".It was never even a concern until wheels and vehicle designs got so varied.
This is what he`s looking for:

Those plain jane rims are nice. I was wondering if the caprice rims came plain like those. Can that type rim be found in a 7in version(for the front), with the same truck b/s. I always thought that those rims ,either chromed with 69 nova dog dish caps. Or black rims, same caps and rings...or body colored same cap, and trim rings or no rings...All that is assuming that the nova cap will fit the hub cap thingies.

Subscribing.
I'm interested in any two 15x8 5-lug wheels that SCOTI doesn't want.

The Caprice did come w/a solid steel wheel in a 7" variety. I believe they were the same thing as the stock truck wheels that came under hubcaps (or as spares).

For the record..... I should have clarified late 70's to mid 80's Caprices/cop cars.

Sounds to me that these 15x8 or 15x7 rims could be found easily either new from the dealership, or a scavenger hunt to the local junkyard. Anyone have nova dog dish caps they want to sell?

They can be found, but like anything..... they're much more pricey when new (unless you have an 'insider').

I should have clarified the 14s were late 50s-60s.
I think we posted at the same time.I`m just slower.I looked for a picture, but don`t have it anymore.
The 8s won`t be easy to find or available new, afaik. The last time I priced a dime a dozen 8" 6-lug rallye at the dealer (`91) they were $85 each in black primer.

Get creative with your search on Ebay . There was a set of 4 new NOS wheels on there a month or so ago for $100 that did not get a bid . I checked and I do not have them in my watch any longer but they were there . I dont remember how they were worded in the search . If I come across them , I will pm you .

Yeah, I bought a set of 4 NOS 15x8 w5x5 bolt pattern for less than $150 shipped from Ebay a few months ago. I will try to locate who I purchased them from because he had several sets.

Those wheels look nice clean. I have those on my car hauler and they are ugly. need to be cleaned up. I will check the barn as i may have 2 that i use to use as spares. I am guessing these will have the size stamped inside the rim as do the rallys....

Most wheels do have the size stamped somewhere on the rim. My guess is, your trailer wheels are 15x7 though.... but it's worth checking.

Weird. I had never even heard of a 5-lug 5x5 pattern 16.5" wheel. 8-lug & 6-lug.... but not 5-lug.
