Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
I was seriously considering a set from ebay that somebody here recommended that will work on bagged trucks. Let me see if I can find the thread...

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
FWIW, I have the ECE ones on my '67 (had to b/c of the frame) but I LOVE em. Well worth the $$.

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
Re headers.Hey guys!I'm totally new at this and don't know how to do anything on this site yet!But i am building a sweet 1972 chevy s/b 2wd (lowered of course)up here in Canada. She's all new rolling chassis and i'm dropping the motor in 2 weeks .(FINALLY!!!)Your discussion on headers got my attention.Does anybody know which headers work best for stock crossmember/cab clearance issues? The drop is 41/2 front,5 rear.I'd like if the collectors were not lower than the front crossmember.(approx.370hp 350 rollerized, flat tops, bored 040.,all Edelbrock HP)Any knowledge is helpfull!

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
.......oneday. .......unless your engine requires full length headers, use 3/4 or shorties. I used a Summit header for 88-98 GM trucks. Welded up the O2 sensor. Others use Patriot and applications for 80's Camaros work, also. You will be able to route your pipe above the tranny mount to avoid clearance issues. Im assuming the '72 doesnt have that much different than my '64. Holesaw your X-member and pipe on thru.

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
I believe so, but they're made to clear the frames on the '67s. Don't know if they're a special make for ECE or one of their standard headers. All I know is that they work

I run block huggers on mine and nothing is below the frame.

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
that's strange, whenI first got my truck, I wanted to run the sanderson header and called them (spoke to a woman) and she told me they did not make a header for a 69 C10. Should I ask for another application. I was going to order the raw finish and have them coated later.

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
peobably going to ask a silly question, but will the cc10 sanderson header fit a 69 c/10 without issue. I could have swore they told me they did not have an application.. but now that I think of it, it could have been for my other car.

They fit just fine on my '67, so they should fit on your '69. It's the other way that the problem arises w/the frame with other types of headers. In other words, some manufacturers make them for '67-'72 C10's, but they don't actually fit '67's. But since you don't need the special routing b/c of the frame, there are cheaper solutions for you as noted above in this thread.

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
I have sandersons and both sides cracked on the rear tubes. I had only a few years of use on these.
By the way, they are for sale!

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
what about the 67 frame is so different that it limits the header options? I have a 67, and I'm almost ready to put my motor back in after a dropped crossmember install, and need new headers. Trying to go cheaper than the ece ones, but still look good with minimum cost. Just want to be sure I get it right the first time

Re: headers, anyone got the answer?
The frame is a bit wider in that area. Some people just trim the frame. I didn't. You can look in my build thread to see what I'm talkin bout.
