Unhappy carb w/o break bost line? Help!

so, I found a carb on criags list. went out there and it looked really, really good. best one Ive seen so far. so I take it home, take off my old carb and notice that the "new" carb does not have the hole to screw in my break line! so, will it run with out that hooked on? what will happen if the brake line isn't hooked up? I do have a Rochester carb *just like the "new" carb, just newer in age* that has the throttle plate that has the brake line but I don't think the bushings are good. is it possible to drill/tap in the "new" carb to make it work? or a way to hook up some other line to make the power brakes work? Thank y'all! Matt
