Front body mount removal
i need to remove the passenger side rubber body mount on a 92 silverado 1500 z71. How do you get it out? i cant even get my hand to the top of it
Please dont tell me it involves taking the front end off |

Are you talking about the front bolts that are in the radiator support? I use a deep socket 18mm and a break over to hold the top, deep socket 18mm and impact to spin it from the bottom.

You might get a quicker answer checking GM Fullsize. There are more people there that deal with those trucks!

i have manage to undo the nut and bolt but cant remove the rubber mounting. it seems to big to push out.

So we are talking about the right part to take out then.. If i remember right on how i removed it (with it all still on the truck), i had both front bolts unbolted along with the front two of the cab (i was putting in poly mounts), so i was able to remove the mounts under the radiator support. After the mounts were out, the bolt was able to come out at an angle.
The metal on the bottom of the mount that goes in the frame is a close fit, but it will come out. |
