Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
Yep. That's all it is. Just a square nut welded to the underside of the floor pan. The bolt then goes through it from the topside. Try crawling underneath the truck and spraying it with some PB Blaster. If that doesn't work, heat it up with a torch and then try it. (Make sure to remove any flammable objects from the area that you will be heating) 40+ years of road junk isn't too kind to the threads.

Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
One of two problems...you have broke the nut on the underside of floor loose, or have stripped the threads and will have the bolt just pinning in the nut? Either way it is a Beotch to get the bolt out!!

Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
Those bolts have very short heads on them, it can be hard to get a grip on them with a socket or wrench. I put new belts in mine a few weeks ago, and it takes some work to get those things loose. I agree on the PB Blaster and some raps with a hammer to break things loose. Make sure to give the Blaster time to penetrate before trying again.

Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
The bolts are installed with glue on the threads so they won't back out. I use my impact gun to get them out. WES

Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
When I added shoulder harnesses I soaked the nuts with liquid wrench (the bottle not the spray) and I still couldn't get them off so I went to a local garage and they zipped them right off with an impact wrench. Didn't even charge me anything.

Re: Seat Belt Bolt Removal
Good socket and an impact wrench. And ear muffs possibly. I don't even think I had to use any lube with the air tools.
