Smog Removal on 84 GMC

Hello everybody, I have got a 1984 GMC 2500 4X4 with a 350 with 115,000 miles on it and it runs good and starts fast but I want to improve it's performance by removing all the smog stuff. It is not a California GMC so it does not have the ECM, so has anybody did this to there GMC/ Chevy ? Did it run better? How did you go about doing it ? Any problems ? I appreciate any and all responses' Thank you.

Re: Smog Removal on 84 GMC

It should run better for sure. I started on mine, but it is on the back burner for an engine replacement. No since in messing with it if I'm going to be putting a new motor in anyways. Easiest thing to do is just start removing the stuff.
