Car show class help

I am in charge of a car show, and I was thinking of adding a class, but I am not sure what to call it. A lot of people are getting barn find's, and old hot rods on the road, and people are making new ones look old. So I wanted to have a class for them so they dont compete against new high doller builds. I think rat rod makes a car sound low quality and poorly built. I was thinking maybe old school, or somthing like that. What would you call a well built hot rod that was built to look like it was built 40 years ago. Thanks. By the way, I am just a car guy, not a promotor. All the money made goes to charity and scholorships.

How about "our class" with a description so people can put themselves in that one, Like kulturekat stated. However, I do like the old's kool.

Re: Car show class help

There's an entire following for this. The proper term is traditional hotrods. Check out the thehamb.com, olskoolrodz.com, lonestarroundup.com, billetproof.com

I agree, that what hot rodding was all about.

P.S., don’t let the looks of those rat rods fool you, most all of them are well built under all that rusty sheet metal.

Re: Car show class help

All of those sound good. We have alot of classes already, but nothing for this. The class will be for 1972 and older cars or trucks, stock or modified, that do not appear to have been redone since 1972. It would include barn finds, unrestored original, old hotrods, rat rods or whatever.
