I just bought a 1985 GMC Sierra Classic, 4 speed manual, 4x4, 3/4 ton pickup, with a 350 engine; it looks good, runs great and the price was right. I know zip about 1980s GMCs so I need some help.
Does anyone know how I can determine tow capacity and also how to determine gear ratio of the differential. Former owner said it was a "heavy duty 3/4ton" (which means what?). He also mentioned that it was a HD engine with a cast steel crank; would this have been factory installed and how do you tell?. Thanks
