has anyone tried a air compressor from a Navigator or other air ride suspention car/truck I think they could be found in he junk yards????

They don't have a very high duty cycle, but they are indeed in junk yards, and could probably be bought on the cheap.

Caddys, Navis and other stock air assist compressors are smaller and less cfm than they are worth.
they are made to inflate sleeve type bags and other low volume types of air assist. A typical bag will require more volume than the whole system on one of those cars.

IMHO the only "junkyard" compressor worth saving is the 60's-70's era york AC compressors with their own oil sump. Ford and Chrysler used them a ton. They are still available today, rebuild for cheap, and put out o TON of air. only drawback is they are engine drive so some fab is required for mounting.

Agreed! SOOOOOO worth the fab work. Ive heard 12 CFM at idle.....12!!!! Even top of the line 12 volt comps are at best 3 or 4...at 30 or 40 amp draw per!
