I sent my mirror arms down to Tx Firefighter and he blasted and powder coated em for me. He did a super nice job.

Well I was mocking them back together and noticed one piece had all the upper threads stripped off. Dunno how I missed that when I took it apart. I have a undersized nut sort of cinching it together for now. I need that stainless steel piece in the close up picture.

I had new mirrors cut so I had to take the housings apart. Unfortunately one of the cap nuts came off with part of the threaded shaft that runs through the inside of the mirror. So I need either the whole mirror housing or the housing bracket that's inside the mirror.

I went ahead and put the mirror assemblies back on the truck. I was tired of driving with one peep mirror. When I get the parts I need Ill take em all apart again and do a nicer job putting them together...should look pretty good.

Just went down and checked 5 mirrors and all have a differant set up...sorry

He did the mirror arms in argent silver. When (if) I come up with the parts to finish the mirrors Ill buff up the mirror housings and repaint the chevrons.

Are you sure that you have those assembled properly ?

It looks to me like that rubber/ stainless isolator in the middle shouldn't be there. That way the arm and the base would mate and the indentions in the two would act as detents. I think those ridges on the two parts are supposed to fit into each other.

My words fail. Different picture to illustrate...

Now that I look at it further, I'm sure of it.

Remove the rubber/ stainless isolator and mate the two ridged parts together. Then, fit the isolator atop the mirror arm. That way you tighten the bolt, the two ridged parts index together and the rubber part supplies enough tension to keep them from moving, but will allow them to move and jump over the ridges if you really push on it harder.

On the stainless piece with the threaded ends one has a square cut at the base the meshes with a square cut in the arm you coated. I took pictures of em before I took em apart. They are put back together the same way. But I supposed its possible the original owner had them together wrong.

Mark (Livrat) has the same set on his truck. Ill ask him to take a look at the picture.

I just read what you posted next...You are probably right. I questioned it myself when I was putting it together, but it matches the before pics....Ill take it apart this weekend.

The problem with your pic is that the stainless part is one piece. You cant thread a bolt through it. Here is a rough pic.
