89 burb questions

Hey guys, just a couple quick quesions. Background info first tho I'm workin a deal via e-mail on a ragged out (body wise)89 burb, 350 2wd. I will mainly be interested in it for the fuel injection and possibly a dash patch panel for the radio hole in the 79. $500 sounds like a steal for a parts donor for this area.

My questions:
1) Are all 89 burbs (assuming they are unmolested) TBI Injection?
2) Is the radio in an 89 the 1.5 DIN or the standard din size hole like the 73-87's have?
3) What trans are they equpped with?

I have not seen this yet, it is located in the next town over from me. I'm trying to seal the deal before it's too late, and I'm at work right now to boot.

Here's a cut and paste of the email from the seller.

"All I know its got a 350 sucks down some gas. Yes the factory radio is in it.little small details the truck needs new brakes and windshield wipers and the back door has to be shut with a strap. no I don’t have any pictures, yeah its got allot of rust and needs allot of body work other that that it’s a great running truck. the interior is in great shape, engine has a brand new alternator and battery."

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Re: 89 burb questions

1) Yes it will be TBI
2) I think it will be a 1.5 DIN
3) If it's a 1/2 ton it should be a 700R4

Sweet! It should be a nice upgrade. I like the TBI setup on my 87, hate adjusting carbs, and don't really care about massive H.P. Now I have to talk my wife into letting me spend the $.

Re: 89 burb questions

look at it like this... the burbs (until 91) had the same parts and interior as the trucks did until 88. 92 burbs share stuff with the 89+ trucks... I THINK the burbs did not start using EFI based injection until the mid 90s, before that was all TBI.

Personally I prefer carbs but thats just my preference, I have had too many issues with TBI through the years.
