Quick Question guys.. I've got a 89 crew cab 2wd with a new paint job and an 80 K30 with a verrrrrry rusty body but a good frame and drivetrain... Soooo I'm thnkin bout putting the 89 body on the 80 frame. would it work??? or are the frames different?? Body mount locations different???

yes but you will need to use a 3 inch bodylift to clear the tranny tunnel

It will work. No body lift needed. Get a tranny tunnel cover for a 4x4 and use it for a template for cutting the 2wd floorpan. At the rear of it you make a couple slit cuts at the corners of the high side of the tunnel cover and hammer it down to mate tthe floor. Use liberal amounts of sealer and some bolts to attach and you are good to go. Been there, done that!

Also if you are running a automatic, you might not need to slice the floor apart.

Something else to keep in mind, it is also an option just to swap out the front suspension brackets, and install the rear leafs. That way you still have a matching vin number!

Also if your 2wd has a 4 speed, then you already have the appropriate floor hump.

If you decide you just want to modify your floor, check out my build on the beast, I did it to clear a NV4500

Thanks for the help guys, I figured it would work, but I wanted your opinion cuz I figured a few of you had done this before. I've got a 4 speed hump out of a wrecked cab I gess I'll use that!!! When I start this whole project I'll be sure to post pics!!
