Re: Question about front springs
First off welcome, to the best place to find all the answers about our trucks. To answer your question may have to wait until you get the drivetrain installed (the age of the springs and how hard of a life they had will affect how it sets) I would suggest installing drivetrain, then if it doesn't set where you want it consider raising with new springs or lowering with drop springs or drop spindles. And yes it will lower it some with the added weight. This is my opinion and I'm sure some of the big block guys will have some better advise. James

Re: Question about front springs
it'll lower no more than with a small block and the average 200 pound man sitting on the hood.
1/2 inch or so tops. |

Re: Question about front springs
I did the same thing you are talking about. I was amazed at how much it DIDN'T lower it. You will probably notice a difference in spring rate than the ride height......if any.

Of course you should. Ever notice the viewed -vs- replies column? Lots of people can learn from build threads just by looking. I've picked up some great ideas and also learned what NOT to do. |
