What plugs in here?
I was doing a little maintenance under the hood of my 87' V10 today and noticed a few things that I was unsure about. If someone can tell me what, or if anything is supposed to plug into the following connectors, I would really appreciate it. I have the factory service manual, but can't figure out if something is disconnected under my hood, or it is supposed to be that way. My truck runs, but still wondering. It's also a 5.7 350. I have attached pics for reference. if someone can tell me what they are, and if if they are unplugged, what they are supposed to go into, I would appreciate it. Thanks
Note the first one is behind the air cleaner and is a black connector with a white wire that is not connected to anything. Second one is on the firewall and is a black connector with a red wire, again not connected to anything. I hope I posted the pictures correctly. http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac95/87403/001.jpg http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac95/87403/002.jpg |

Re: What plugs in here?
First the pics are great. The first one (white wire) is for a Tach signal. The other (red wire) is to check the fuel pump. That is if I am recognizing this as a TBI engine correctly? They are fine to leave unplugged they came that way from the factory.

Re: What plugs in here?
This truck is bone stock and never been modified, so I figured they were supposed to be unplugged, but not sure. Not to start a new topic, but I don't believe a tach was a factory option in 1987 was it? And yes, it is a TBI engine. Thanks for the help, now I can put my air cleaner back on and not worry!
Another question, what is this, and is it supposed to bolt to the side of my air cleaner? It has just been setting on the valve cover. I noticed a small hole in the side of my air cleaner and it looks by the small bolt in it, that is is to fit in that hole and then be held on by a small nut inside. Am I correct? http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac95/87403/004.jpg |

Re: What plugs in here?
Map sensor. It should have a bracket for a home. I can get a pic of mine if need be.

Re: What plugs in here?
Thanks for your help. A picture of yours in the bracket would be great! I'll look at mine tonight and see if the said bracket is there or not.
