Is my 69 worth restoring?
Im sorry i have no pictures at this time, but u hope to get some on here this weekend! Anyways the truck is from Texas originally so the rockers, floor boards, bed floor and frame have No rust (the good part)! the bad part is that that a sun roof was cut it it so the area above the windshield frame is rotted (no the windshield fram itself tho), the area above the door, and the front bulk head thing on the bed is rotted out and the sill under that is gone too. the best part is doors, fenders, hood, cab mounts and tail gate. the motor and tranny needs to be rebuild (327 and turbo 400) and a solid posi-trac 4:10 rear end. i have several parts truck that i could borrow from. does this truck sound like its worth rebuilding? Ohh and its a short wheel base.

Re: Is my 69 worth restoring?
I have seen worse turned into gold, but pictures will definitely be the ending verdict. The good thing is that replacement pieces are easy to find and easy to fix.
Try to post up some pics and we'll see if we can provide you with a better overview.

Sounds better than the average 1999 in Northern Ontario.

Re: Is my 69 worth restoring?
Yeah, my floor is rotted out... that was actually what I was working on tonight... I am working off of two trucks. Rebuilding a 72 GMC from a 69 Chev... Damn, I am patching everything between the trucks. I just finish cutting out the rear drivers side cross brace that you put the cab mount bolt through. Wednesday I will the the one out of the GMC and weld the solid one in.
What part of Ontario are you from, Neon? |

Re: Is my 69 worth restoring?
I'd cut the roof off the truck and replace it with a donor. If you weld and fabricate, it's not too big of a deal.
