It's been sitting up for about 6-8 years now, just getting cranked and moved around the yard some. I decided to get it road worthy and rebuilt the carb, replaced the bumpers and grille, did a little brake work, replaced the steering wheel, and a few other things. I want to replace all of the rusted parts and repaint it one day, but not anytime this year. It takes pretty good pics, but about the only body part worth saving is the tub. I hope it will hold up to some daily driving! Here are a few pics of it when I bought it a few years ago. Notice the rust in the left door jamb.

Awesome dude! I envy you getting it out and running again! I am trying harder everyday to get there too. Mine has been in storage since late 1999. Way overdue to bust em out! Thank's for the pic's and more inspiration!

Great pics. Feels great to make progress. I will get mine back this week after a complete rear dif rebuild. Looks like we will be driving ours around the same time. Keep us posted w/more pics. Later

Yep, I added those. I don't know why, I just like them I guess, but NOS 72 style hooks are not worth what you have to pay for them.

Maybe yall can help me with a direction here, I've got the chance to get a 4"spring lift, a set of 33" mud terrains, and some nice 15x10 aluminum wheels at a reasonable price. I like the way it looks now, but it needs tires, and all of that stuff would be pretty cool too. This thing could be my son's daily driver in a few years when he gets old enough, and I'm concerned about the lift making it too top heavy for a 16 y/o. Would you put a 16 year old in this with the lift?

I drove mine with a 4" lift & 33's all over without ever feeling like it was top heavy but then again, I'm not 16 any more either.

I'd do it because I really like that wheel/tire combo but I'd also make darn sure the young man understood physics.

Oh ya, 4" lift is just right. I ran a trailmaster 4" spring lift with 35" BFG's on it and loved it. Had to trim the fenders a bit to run the 35's though. Sometimes wish I wouldn't have went higher. Go for it!

Does your son have fear, or is he a daredevil? If you think hes responsible then the lift will be just fine. I'm sure he could flip a stock blazer on its lid if hes crazy enough.

I have what I believe to be a 8" lift with 36's and I don't feel its top heavy but I'm on the street only. Wheeling would make me nervous.

You mean there are responsible kids?

Just kidding, yes, he is pretty responsible and does have fear, and I wouldn't call him a daredevil, but he drives his 4 wheeler like there's no way it could possibly turn over on him, lol. Hopefully the 4 wheeler will teach him that respect(without getting hurt) before he gets a license.
