Need Some Dis-continued Jam Nuts
I'm looking for a 7/8'', 18 Thread, RH and LH nuts for tie rod ends on a 1987 Chev 1/2 Ton 4x4. After you screw the tie rod ends into either side of the long sleeve, the nuts are used to snug up to the sleeve to lock the tie rods in. I've been looking everywhere and the GM dealership says they are dis-continued. I've also tried other 7/8 nuts both coarse and fine but they need to be 18 thread. Can anyone tell me where to get these nuts? Thanks.

I tried junkyards (and still am) but the threads are ruined in all the nuts just like mine and no hardware store carries nuts with that thread count.

Re: Need Some Dis-continued Jam Nuts
If you buy new tie-rod ends, they come with them...

Re: Need Some Dis-continued Jam Nuts
Thanks a lot. I'll try those web sites. I thought the tie rod ends would come with them too but when I bought them I realized that they didn't, just a nut for the other end, a grease nipple and a cotter pin.

Re: Need Some Dis-continued Jam Nuts
you can get tie rods at any auto parts for around $20 each for the good stuff and the sleeves less than $10 each
