Question 87 Suburban 2wd to 4wd Frame Swap

I have a 87 suburban 2wd and a chance to buy a 79 4wd lwb pick-up. I was wondering would the suburban fit on the truck frame or is it easier to swap just what I need from the 4wd.

Re: 87 Sburban 2wd to 4wd Frame Swap

I want to go the other way on my blazer. It's 4wd now and I want it 2wd. I don't think the lwb pickup frame will work...

Re: 87 Sburban 2wd to 4wd Frame Swap

heres a page that might help http://www.chuckschevytruckpages.com/framespecs.html
it lists the frame specs for most chevy models 73-87. I didn't see the suburban listed but it does have the long bed listed so you can still compare by measuring yours.

Cool Re: 87 Suburban 2wd to 4wd Frame Swap

Thanks 72CustomCamper and tobiahr for the info. Not sure what I will do with the suburban, might just go ahead a buy the 4x4 truck and build it.
Thanks again for the info
