Biggest Tires with stock suspension?
I was wondering if any of you guys have any in-sight as to how big of a tire I could go on a stock Silverado....the Control Arms are up as far as they will go in the front. I will cut a bit of the front bumper skirt if need be.
Thanks

My 96 has had 31x10.50-15 on 8" SS wheels and no clearance problems. (front or rear). I think I have see another guy near my work and he has 32x11.50 on his 2wd and it looks like they clear OK also.

Time for some Baja Claws While i'm with the tires...would you guys recommend getting Powertrax, or Lockright lockers that don't sound harsh like the rest?

Don't have a picture with the 31's on it, but this is with 275/60. the 31's are about an inch taller and slightly narrower. I went to street tires to be a bit quieter and since I wasn't going to do any serious hauling with this one.

Do you think I could fit 33's, or would that be on the ragged edge?

33 x12's
I have put 33 x12 on the rear of mine for snow and mud and they are OK until you hit a dip or hole. They WILL RUB on occasion! I think putting them on the front would be risky at best. I'd stick with 31's if the'll do. nuideas

oh, sorry I am thinking 67-72 years... on a 93 4X4 I think 32 is as good as it gets and they will rub a little but not to bad- I cant remember the the 3 letter equivalant (295 or 305? or something like that)... Pete

You can put a 305/70 under it but will need 8" wide wheels, with 5" of back spacing, they are close but they fit on the 1/2 tons, same combo on my dads 98 Tahoe, and on the 3/4 tons just crank torsion bars up 4 turns and the will fit that too!!

33's will go on a 4x4. I have a 94 3/4 ton 2wd and they fit on with 33x12.50 on a 15x10 wheel. I did trim the front air dam and later added a 3" body lft to keep from rubbing on bumps!!

Palf70step: Is your 70 step lifted in the rear? I have a 68 step and it sits much lower, rear is about same height as front.
Thanks! |
