How do you remove the dash on an AD truck?

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but my truck is in storage and I'm lazy and dont feel like getting it out

Is the dash on my '53 GMC Removable?? I see the replacement dashes have what look like bolt holes (maybe holes for plug welds).

How do you remove it?

Thanks

The dash is removable...after you cut 50 some spot welds. I'm looking for the exact number in my assembly manual...haven't put my finger on it yet.

Re: How do you remove the dash on an AD truck?

I had to replace the dash on mine. The 27 or so spotwelds along the top lip of the dash at the window frame were a piece of cake. The 6 on each side where it was underneath the weatherstrip molding on each side were the bigger headaches. Making the new dash fit was an even bigger headache. In hindsight I wish I had custom fabbed something. It would have undoubtedly been easier than this exercise.

that's what I was looking for! I'm getting my cab media blasted and I was just wondering if I could simply unbolt the dash, to allow for easier access to blast behind it - not gonna happen!

Thanks guys

I think it'd be easier to cut out your firewall to give them access to blast behind it. I'm not going to worry about mine, and I believe most probably don't.
