Re: A/C vs Non A/C radiator differences
I don't remember seeing an a/c or non a/c specific radiator. I believe an a/c truck would merely come with the larger core radiator. I would go with the 4 core. Both my Camaro and truck have oem brass/copper 4 cores and they are great.

Re: A/C vs Non A/C radiator differences
Thanks mclairmo....the reason I ask is cause a boardmember wants to know if I want his from the parts board. He has other people waiting for me who are also interested in it..I guess the question I should be asking is has anybody used a radiator from an a/c truck on a non-a/c truck.thanks

Re: A/C vs Non A/C radiator differences
typically the difference is AT/MT, cause obviously you'd need the tranny cooler if you're running AT...
also, don't forget, if you're not already running a 4 core, you'll need to replace the mounting pads, as the 4 core is thicker.

Re: A/C vs Non A/C radiator differences
I believe that all the radiators bolt in the same way and that there is no difference. I don't believe that the a/c components depend on a particular type of radiator. As such, a radiator from an a/c truck should bolt in the same way to a non a/c truck and work and fit the same. No difference. However, there is a difference between 2 row, 3 row or 4 row.

Found the difference in the LMC part numbers...didn't look close enough...w/o AC is a 3 row and w/ AC is a 4 row

Re: A/C vs Non A/C radiator differences
there are no 2 3 or 4 CORE rads in cars or trucks, that is reserved for equipment that needs a rad about 6 to 10 feet tall. After that, they step up to a modular design.
These trucks came with 2,3, or 4 ROW cores in a copper/brass style radiator. |
